An Active Video Game
There are many great video game toys out there that claim to get your child off of the couch and on their feet exercising. The Nintendo Wii is arguably the most popular example of this but how much of an exercise do you really get? There is a new product out from the people at Hasbro that will change all of this. It’s called the U Dance Game, it doesn’t require that you already own an expensive gaming system like the Wii or Playstation. The U Dance game is an all in one product and this thing really gets you sweating.
Of course like most of the video games today that our kids have we adults tend to jump right in and give them a try. Well the U Dance Game is sure to be one of those products and here is why. First off the unit as I mentioned before doesn’t require a gaming system so during these tough economic times you don’t need to worry about breaking the bank. The second part is this unit is easy to set up and at the beginner levels is easy to operate. When I say easy to operate I mean from a technical level. How coordinated you are and how good you are at dancing is another thing.
Here is how it works, there is a stand that you hook up to your television it’s a narrow attractive unit that will measure infrared signals. Next you place little elastic band straps on your feet that have transponders and that is it! The game will start to display on your television and you basically just start dancing. Like the dancing machines in any arcade you follow the prompts on the screen and mimic them in order to get points and move to the more difficult levels.
I am not joking when I say this could be one of the best games for losing weight. You are going to sweat there are no two ways about it. My daughter and I played this game for 2 hours one night and I was soaking. The good news is we had an absolute blast, it was time together spent being active and more importantly it was too cold out to be outside. We decided to buy this gift for her birthday and ever since then she has had her friends over and the game is being played nonstop.
Most of us are looking for ways to spend more time with our family members, I can tell you this game allows us to spend more time together and burns some calories. Two birds one stone!
